what does DC think about Sequoia and Thunder Grill?
never been to Thunder Grill but been to Sequoia several times

Food is solid and it's a nice place. The best part is all the waterfront seating and the bar area.

I've been to Thunder Grill dozens of times, and I only know of it as a happy hour hangout. That seems to be what drives the business. Most customers don't seem to be there for the culinary experience, which is probably above average.

Succotash on 7th near Pennsylvania Ave
Southern style food, brought out in several courses, like 10 or 12 of them if you do the Taste of the South meal. Really nice atmosphere and layout as well. Bit on the fancy side.
Deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, smoked wings with some white sauce that was awesome, chicken and waffles, cornbread, ribs, ham, rice dressing, collard greens, fried catfish, pecan pie if I remember correctly. I left very satisfied, and very full.
Really good place to eat if you have a group.
