You don't think the check I wrote to my local church, which supports 60+ missions/charitable projects is worthwhile? Is my annual check to the United Methodist Committee on Relief, which helps in disaster relief wother boots on the ground work, a head scratcher for you?

You don't have to believe, but how can you argue that all churches are rotten? Do the checks I write help to make the world a better place or not?

He's got a point here. Whether or not you are religious, there ARE some churches that would be great charitable contributions, if you're so inclined to make one. WAY better than the Red Cross.
