Our daughter wants to do a year abroad in HS. Anyone ever let their child do this? Most of my questions are about the academic side of things.
Oh I'm sure she's all about the cultural and academic "enrichment".
Your wife convince you this is a reasonable idea?

We travel quite a bit and our daughter (no pics) wants to spend a year in Asia after She graduates 8th grade. It’s most likely Vietnam, Korea, or Japan. We realize she may have to do 4 years of US high school afterwards but she wants to give it a try. It’s kind of expensive but it might be worth it. Obviously we’d visit there twice and she’d come home to visit but it’s a big step for a person at 14.
I have a friend from PA who let his daughter attend HS in Russia. She’s in her twenties now (no pics) and still lives in Europe but it worked out ok. She’s in the USA about 8-10 weeks a year.
