Man I was given two of those bastards. I am very mechanically inclined. But if I wasn’t I’d thrown them away. Ride them a day and work on them two days. Seriously.
Also/ buy all the parts you can online. The markup is 8,999 percent at a local parts dealer (if you can find one)

Also- what Barney said above- i would remove chain to eliminate it and the motor from the equation first
