Another good rule of thumb is to think about your core beliefs and the search for every verse that says something about that topic. You will end up finding that most ever denomination picks and chooses what they want to believe. All of the hard truths are watered down to appease the masses.

Recall the words of St. Peter in his epistles:

"Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from one's own interpretation." - 2 Peter 1:20

"He [St. Paul] writes this way in all his letters, speaking in them about such matters. Some parts of his letters are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction." - 2 Peter 3:16

One of the two major tenets of Protestantism (Sola Scriptura) is in direct contradiction to what Peter tells us in his epistle.

Fundamentalist/evangelical churches should forfeit their tax exempt status and allow the Holy Word of the Bible to be preached unfiltered. Churches should chose to be unchained from tax exempt control by the government. This PC stranglehold that’s been thrust upon society is bleeding over into the church, time for unfiltered Truth!!!
