It's exactly what it set out to be. It's a better looking, better playing version of Crackdown.

It would be much better if the game actually had a campaign and wasn't just a big map filled with side missions and boss fights, but then again, that's what Crackdown always has been.

Is this just a case of what was good in 2007 and even 2010 just isn't all that good anymore? The game should've released in 2014 when the Xbox One launched, and it wouldn't be the punchline that it is today.

It is included with Game Pass so I will try and get some time in with it this week since I loved the original Crackdown.

I think that's the problem. Crackdown came out in 2007. You can't release a shinier version of that in 2019 and expect it to be received well. The earth didn't stand still during that time and gaming evolved a bit.

If their goal was a better looking Crackdown they should have just released a remastered version instead of the years of development hell Crackdown 3 went through.

I have no personal opinions on the game, but that is the gist of what I've gathered based on comments and reviews.
