When the defense is able to get pressure on a QB without blitzing it limits you offensively...are you really questioning that?

If we wanted to go 4 wr and spread bama we weren't able to bc they were not being blocked at all. We started off the bama game more spread than when we finished bc of pass protection. He was getting pressured or hit on almost every play.

Maybe you should ask an OC if blocking is important when calling plays.
