Can you argue that it was more talented than the 2019 class?

present you argument man. I don't remember exactly who we signed 10 years ago and don't feel like looking it up.
also, comparing one class that has already finished playing to one that has yet to see the field is not really valid when you think about it. there are always some guys that under perform and some that over perform based on their high school "credentials".

you can't look at the '09 class on paper; they've already played their career. we know who panned out and who didn't.
it seems like a good idea to compare two classes but you just can't until both have played their careers.
maybe i'm missing your point. If it's the classes were ranked the same and '09 was great; ergo '19 probably will too; then say so. don't make us figure it out.

I have discussed this class before.
It is very good.
Craig Loston - Safety
Michael Ford - RB
Rueben Randle - WR
Chris Faulk
Michael Brockers - DL
Bennie Logan - DT
Davenport - DT
Downs - DT
Sam Montgomery - DE
Mingo - OLB/DE
Akiem Hicks - DL (didn't work out, but still adds to the ridiculousness of this class)
Barrow - OLB
Tahj Jones - OLB
Minter - MLB
Mo Claiborne - CB
Oh and Russell Shepard was like the #3 nationally ranked recruit and in this class.
I left out a few, but that is the bulk of it.
This class was the key makeup for the 2011 beast of a team.. especially defensive.. That defense was so nasty.

On paper it was probably one of the our best classes ever. Some good players but not to level of the rankings.

It was the #1 class. This is the #5 class. We've had probably 3 or 4 classes since then better rated than 2019.

This still kills me. The reason he couldn’t join the team was such a waste. I thought he’d be the successor to Dorsey. Who knows how it would’ve panned our in college had he gotten to play here, but it’s easy to see how good he is and could’ve been. Ugh.

2009 class was ridiculous. Had quantity and quality.
While nothing is ever a sure thing, I expect these guys to have nationally elite careers
Derek Stingley
John Emery
Marcel Brooks
These guys to have great careers
Siaka Ika
Kardell Thomas
Trey Palmer
Tyrion Davis
Donte Starks
Raydarius Jones
Cade York
These guys to have good careers
Maurice Hampton
Kendall McCallum
-Skinner is a LS so I guess he's automatically considered good to go.
-I don't want to project OL because outside of a handful, you never know what you are going to get there. I just think OG Thomas and his physical gifts will make him great once we get him eating right and suring up the technique.
-Can't project Parrish good or bad until a LSU coach shows me they can develop a QB straight out of high school. Hasn't happened since Jimbo Fisher was here.
-I'm not that high on Devonta Lee. I don't expect much from him. I don't think he's bad, but I think he's a guy that'll likely fall behind and transfer.
-The rest of the guys are 3 stars and JUCOs. These 3 star guys usually need 2-3 years as backups before you can really know what you're getting from them. If it's a normal class, 2-3 of them will work out. The JUCOs we got aren't one and done good, and are more or less bridging a gap.

That defensive line class was amazing. The main reason for 2011 happening

Then maybe you’re just high?
