Just thought I'd pass the new SEC helmet schedule along here. Six months to go, man I miss football season. I do like the two bye weeks this year, makes for an extra week of football.

In their defense, I'm sure schools are dying to sign up to get their asses kicked in the first game of the season.

I appreciate that bye before Utah State.

Bama bitches about everone taking their before them but look at UGA, every east team takes one before them except UK. Vandy is their first game of the year.

Yep, Duke is their marquee out of conference game.

LSU: Texas
TX A&M: Clemson
Auburn: Oregon
GA: Notre Dame
Gumps: Duke

What a joke!

that open week between Vandy and Utah state is a fricking waste. would have been way better to switch USU and UF.

Look at Alabamas Schedule. They have spaced it out correctly. Joe A can't do that. He gets his arse handed to him by UF, Les Miles (in 2012), Tom Herman, Jimbo and Birmingham.

ETA

frick Joe A.....we have a week off between two of our easier games.....then end the season with four SEC games in a row.

Meanwhile, other sec teams have Abiline, UT Morris, Samford, ETSU and Western Carolina before their last rival game of the season.

Stupid on Joe.

Hate playing a triple option team before a massive air attack team to start the season. Not going to get to work on our cover skills as much as we should.

Utah State did finish the 18 season ranked in the top 20.....although they probably won't be as good this year.

They also play LSU and A&M every year. Both of which can’t beat bama. So I don’t see why the other 11 games on bama’s schedule matter so much.

What makes you say this?

Because Jimbo and all that?

Because as long as they are ranked near the top, all they have to do is keep winning to stay with that ranking. Yes, preseason rankings mean little but they're always at or very near the top so when they only have to really worry about one (LSU), maybe two games a year (Auburn). Possibly A&M but I wouldn't hold my breath on that. Saban owns his former staff members.

That's why it matters. Out of 11 games, they really have to be concerned with the game with us, maybe Auburn and A&M being the outlier. But A&M hasn't beaten them since Manziel was there.

No way Duke is going to beat them, they don't play Florida, they don't play Georgia, Tennessee? No chance. Not losing to Ole Miss. Doubt they'll lose to Moo State, Fitz is gone now.

I think that's what the earlier poster was getting at.

I’m just sick of seeing LSU fans pick at bama’s schedule when LSU hasn’t beaten them in 7 years. Who they play outside of the first Saturday in November every year is IRRELEVANT to LSU if LSU doesn’t beat them. It’s really simple. The only thing LSU fans should worry about is things they can control. This argument about their schedule holds no water what so ever.

I agree to a point.

We haven't beaten them in 7 years now, that's no secret. I don't like to bring up the past but the last time we beat them, in Tuscaloosa, when they were ranked 2. So beating a very tough team like Alabama should've counted more when we beat them. Send them to Sugar and bring on the team in line for us. That didn't happen and their schedule is still reflective of it. As long as it benefits Alabama, that's how it is.

But to present day, beating them would close a few doors. But things have to change and quickly on offense. Again, that's no secret. We've scored 10 points against them in the last 3 years. 10. Not trying to dog Ensminger but this is a fact. This has to improve and quickly.

But at the same time, when they only have to worry about one, maybe 2 games out of 12, that's where the argument is flawed. Play some good teams instead of running over weaker talented teams. They don't do that so they're almost always at or near the top of the preseason rankings. We play Florida every year, Bama every year, we don't play Georgia this year but did last year, OOC foes don't equal. Duke is not the equivalent of Texas. Alabama always has the cake walk. Always.

Have to disagree here. Look at the above paragraph.

But that's just my opinion.

Worry about LSU? LSU can’t even score on Bama. You really think they are worried about E calling plays against their defense?

Dude you’re sounding delusional. There should be no argument made about anything Alabama.

You say their schedule this their schedule that. Well okay then why do they still beat LSU 29-0? So they only had to worry about LSU and another game all regular season? LSU is the only good team they play every year?

It really makes NO SENSE why LSU fans obsess over bama’s schedule when LSU can’t beat them. They played #3 Florida State a few years ago. You act like they intentionally schedule teams years prior knowing they’ll be a bad program by the time they play bama. LSU played fricking BYU last season. They sucked last year btw. Usually BYU is a decent team so it’s a crap shoot. Same goes for scheduling anybody OOC. LSU is fresh off a home and home with Syracuse dude. Come on!

Put this bama conspiracy theory to rest. It’s embarrassing for LSU fans. We’re the only fan base that has people like this in the SEC. win the game or shut the hell up. No more.

Dude, you sound like someone that has no clue as to how teams get into the playoffs. This isn't a complaint based upon a conspiracy theory, it is a complaint based upon real decipherable odds.

Florida State 3 years ago??? Are you really using that in this argument? Are you a Bama troll, drunk, ignorant, an O hater, a self hater or a combination of all the previous?

LSU did beat Bama in 2011 and had the much, much tougher schedule but Bama still got into the Championship game and got their shot at a rematch.

Any serious bookmaker understands that amongst the traditional powerhouses, the easier the schedule the easier it is to get into the playoffs. Bama has had an easier schedule than LSU for many years now. Subtract a loss from LSU's schedule each year in the recent past and they might have made the playoffs in some of those years.....giving them a chance to even the score against the Tide.

It does matter who you schedule. Florida vs Tennessee every year.....Texas vs Duke out of conference this year.....last year it was Georgia vs. Missouri as the second in conference game. Do you see the pattern???

LSU should be going into week 8 undefeated. Make that game respectable if not outright win it, then run the rest of the table for 11 and 1. I would think that gets you into the playoffs and you gotta win the rematch if there is one.

I'm happy for a bye week advantage there. We're wearing purple jerseys with gold helmets and pants for Utah State, so whatever scheduling advantage for that game (bye week) will help overcome the onus of the uniforms.

Expound please

Just like the coach is in charge of the product on the field, the AD should still try to help the coach as much as possible. Like Greg Byrne helps Saban.

You need every advantage you can find, and Saban knows how to do this for everything...even down to scheduling.

Joe does not. Joe even sells our home game against UF down the river for 2017......the guy is a hack.
