I was 17 and payed a lot of attention to the race. I’m thankful I didn’t have to pul a lever in that one, but would have voted for Edwards if I’dve had to vote.

The wildest part of that election was Duke being endorsed by James Meredith... the Civil Rights icon that integrates Ole Miss.

Since James Meredith became a Republican well before that, it doesn't surprise me that he endorsed Duke. All that was after he benefited from the civil rights movement, sort of like Clarence Thomas. Guess they didn't need the civil rights movement after they got theirs.
