FTR, I'm not against steam at all. I'm against people overreacting to not buying a new game because it's not on Steam.
Not really accurate. If the game supports workshop, it supports mods. That's not something exclusive to older games. The biggest benefit is how easy is makes the process while also streamlining updates. Also allows the community to filter out the bad ones as people rate them, etc.

Played both Metro 2033 and Last Light. I said the trading cards were pointless, but the point I was trying to make was that Steam has things built in to that reward you playing the games you have. And if you truly don't care, sell them and use that money to buy more games. I'd made over $40 selling free things I got on Steam marketplace.
