I haven't predicted either way at any point because it was on known this one would be a circus until the end.
That said, have the feeling there is gonna be a lot of qouted posts and calling out come wednesday. It'll be entertaining and dreadful at the same time.

Not predicting anything. Won't touch this with a twenty foot pole. It simply can go either way. Whatever happens happens.

Be wise and understand we made an offer too. Maybe not the same, maybe less or more. But we play the game too.

Y'all must think our coaches are complete idiots. Of course they know this could be true. Why T F y'all think they hosted four DL (counting Fauna) for????Duhhhh....... They can't help Moore ended up weirding out, Young was always going to be tough and Soph's recruitment is what it is. No one got blindsided or anything or someone duping the other so we are left at the alter. If we strike out on them that is a closing issue that needs to be addressed at the coaching level and program level.

I can’t fathom how Ish would think it’s a good idea to go there and be buried with all these guys at his position

doesnt that show these players arent scared of competition, same thing we say to our players who xfer because of lack of playing time.

funny how everyone was riding hard for young, moore, and pickering only a month ago and it now sounds like we will strike out on all of them including Ish

i know everyone is stoked about the dline recruits in 2020, but the same was said in 19 and that went down the shitter (compared to hype surrounding it)

From Bama Board

quote:

Nolacapstone went fricking biblical on BOL last night. He called out the brother of Louisiana's governor over on BOL for trying to sway Sopsher to LSU.

It's hilarious.

I hope LSU sucks every year with a top 5/6 class...

THe point here is LSU needs studs in the trenches! Miles had no problem getting top 10 classes but what killed him was lack of good players in the trenches. Coach O saw that with the beatdown bama gave LSU this past year. Yet here we stand with the possibility of two avg D line classes in a row

I don’t care what he tells Saban tonight.

Ain’t over till it’s over.

I won't be the least bit surprised to find out he does an "impulse buy" and changes at the last minute (either direction).

You just keep doing what you do with any recruit sought after- working him. If the recruit is impulsive, then be the last voice he heard in his ears.

I do hate that we, as a program, get locked into these battles that while you can't avoid it for the recruit, we also get a double whammy of the optics of "the fence" or "locking down the state". It gives others leverage over us. Losing a battle for a recruit in OK doesn't hurt us as much as one in LA- and we created that. There is no state pride on the other side of the coin, why do we put our "brand" on the table when the other side doesn't.

I have, and always will until something changes, believe ANY high profile recruit from Amite will go to Bama instead of LSU.

I hoping LSU can change this trend but I will not be surprised if both Lee and Sopsher both end up at Bama.

The serious answer is that Bama has the luxury of being able to legit recruit nationally. Sure, we get a guy every now and again from up north or out west, those guys are few and far beteeen conpared with guys from Louisiana, Florida and Texas.

The Mississippi schools are both all in on keeping their guys in-state, even though they both have to compete for them. Just look at how hard it is to pull a high-profile MS recruit.

In order to get back to an elite level, LSU has to be able to get most or all of the best in-state players year in and year out as well as poach a few from FL, TX and other states here and there.

I’m not against anything you posted but they were taking Fonua anyway. O and Arganda love the guy and think he can contribute next year. I understand everyone is freaking out but we will get another DL in this class. Devonte is coming

I agree on what was said about 2019’ hype. & 2020 hype. It is said every year. There is only one difference. We have Coach O & he has begun to build a fence around Louisiana. The camp circuit has changed. Less out of state school coming in for camps & less top 20 players headed out of state. In due time, results will produce on the field.

Who better to keep our kids in state than a man from our great state. Coached with the Saints also. Deep Louisiana ties. In due time, Coach O will be winning championships with Louisiana backing him. Let’s start here amongst these chats. #Geaux Tigers!

While some people think that Bama has their pick of Young and Sopsher I don't believe that. They are battling us just like we are battling them. The quickest way to lose a fight is to not realize you are in one. And they realize it.

But, let's look at it this way.... If Young were to flip because Ish goes Bama's way:

- Bama stole a LA recruit and "got their pick" of the two will be the perception (primarily in our and their fanbases).

- We lost the guy we really wanted, still got a good one, but keep losing in-state talent and Orgeron isn't keeping his promise of locking down the state (and some will scream for his firing over this one instance).

In reality both schools are happy to get one or the other, extremely happy to get both. But only one of those two, LSU, suffers in the minds of others (including a minority of future recruits) because of the perception. It is a win or lose perception created by us and us alone; schools like Bama or TAMU are just more than happy to use our own box against us.

I see "recruiting is fluid" all the time. It's true. Well, manage the perception/brand the same way- fluidly. We all thumb our nose at "spin". Fine, but it's a valuable part of marketing. And that's part of recruiting. Leave yourself an out... leave yourself room to "spin" if Ish goes to Bama but we get Young. There's no downside. And at the end of the day, we can control the spin; we can't control where Ish goes.

Aranda fell in love (no gay) with Fonua, and Fonua with LSU. That means not only does Aranda think he's got it takes as a player, it ALSO means Aranda see how his strengths/skills fit into his scheme and where his needs are. One of those two alone is enough. Both are a no-brainer. The addition on Fonua in no way should be scoffed at or seen as "settling".
