What results are we expecting? The same that 100+ other teams are hoping for?

Make up your own, that's what everyone else does.

Should have a clause that says he's fired by 2020 if he doesn't make the playoffs? Is that realistic?

The results that the last coach was fired for not getting?

I'm amazed, this is the 5th or 6th thread y'all taken to 20+ pages arguing the same fricking points.

The fact that you're tired of the same points doesn't make them any less valid.

Its not the star's he is chasing. He is attempting to fix position weaknesses, through recruiting and transfers... I would say his recruiting may not be as good but identifying the positions and recruiting those positions is more organized

we haven't reached that yet.

When we get blown out three in a row, and lose 5 of 9 games, we're in that territory. When the offense has a passing offense ranked in the 100's 2.3 years in a row, and the coach refuses to acknowledge the problem, we're in that territory.

“ incoherent, bumbling idiot”

It’s interesting to me how some want to act as if continual criticism of the LSU football coach is something new or different for this forum. It’s not and all the protesting over it from some rings pretty dang hollow.

We had a good year. We are having a good recruiting year. Neither one of those is a first for the program. We are all waiting for that west championship. When it comes, a large percentage of the criticism will disappear. Until that time, I’m afraid it’s going to remain with us no matter the complaints about it.

As they say in business - it’s about the results. The results are not as good as before on the whole.
For example 1-2 that’s good wins versus HORRIBLE losses. Well, losing to UF twice and zero points against BAMA twice is just bad. At least Miles losing to BAMA was typically competitive enough for fans to scream foul on some calls at the end of games.
2013 10-3
2014 8-5 (go look at the final SEC WEST rankings (3 ranked teams at the end of the season ahead of them) lost to BAMA in OT, an outstanding MSU team, a good AU team and a physical Arky team. Best a very solid Ole Miss team.
2015 9-3* with McNeese State cancelled. Considering Miles NEVER lost to an OOC opponent at home and 1 TOTAL in his time at LSU during the regular season, I give him win.

2017 9-4 beat 5 teams that fired their head coach. Not one good win the entire season. Losses to Troy at home and a whipping by MSU summed it up.
2018 10-3 one solid win against UGA. Losses to TAMU, UF and not even playing bAMA close is terrible.

If we end up ranked 109th passing next year, I'll agree.

I'll take that as a compliment where this subject is concerned.

Please name one who left that is currently a starting OL in a P5 Conference

how many have eligibility left? AND transfers typically go to schools where they can start immediately. This was before the transfer portal.

Second, he lost his BEST LINEMAN PERIOD AT RIGHT TACKLE.

Are you talking about Maea Teuhema?

If you are, he left due to Maea not wanting to go to class. He and his brother were not interested in the "student" part of student athlete.

Maea and bro went to SELU. I watched quite a few of their games. He didn't stand out. He declared in 2018 and went undrafted. Saints picked him up and cut him. He now plays for the San Antonio Commanders of the Alliance of American Football. I didn't know that was a thing.

Well, one guy had already been to two NCs and won one of them before all of that happened.

How many years is 8-10 wins without SEC championships or playoff appearances going to be acceptable?

That time had long passed him by.

He's gone. Its time you got over it.

I was just countering a point that you made about Miles's performance in his last few years. If he'd begun his career like that he wouldn't have made it past 2007. The SEC championships and NC context matters.

Whether you like it or not, the head coach right now and his career will always be linked to Les Miles.

Not as long as you're implying for sure.

And whether you like it or not, there was a tremendous amount of dysfunction going on in the program even after Miles won in 07. Namely with the O and QBs.

I would have to think O's leash will be a lot shorter for that kind of thing. Although the CSE is just as dysfunctional in its own right.
