How much would it have cost Greedy if he broke his leg in the bowl game? how much if he tore a ligamen

that very rarely happens. It is possible and has happened to a handful of the thousands upon thousands of the draft eligible players that played in bowls over the years. But it is a long shot of happening. Better question, why not just take the whole year off or the last half the year. He had established himself as an early draft pick long ago way back at the beginning of the season if not before.

What i thought was hilarious was Will Grier sitting out the bowl game but playing in the senior bowl. I realize they protect players to a certain degree in those games, but it still wasn't a good look to me in Grier's case.

How good does that make Tyrone Prothro feel? Marcus Lattimore? Greedy did the smart thing. He made a good business decision.

Do you not remember Maurice Clarette and that USC WR suing the NFL to enter the draft and sitting out? How did that work for them?

It's this exact reason that the NFL will start punishing players for not playing. This is an unpopular take - but here's what I feel the truth is:

Greedy had a great season in 17' and, combined with his name became a great segment in the media.

Greedy did not have that great of a year in 18', and sat out that bowl game to save his draft position from more film of him getting exposed just as much as he did to save position from getting injured.

Before the bowl game - several draft experts stated that Greedy was over hyped and over rated.

The NFL will absolutely make changes. The Bosa guy from Ohio state sat out this whole year. If he ends up not making it in the NFL you can guarantee that the NFL will start penalizing players for sitting. Bosa didn't just avoid injury, he avoided getting exposed.
