No they didn't. Asik and Ajinca made $15M, which is no where near 30% of the cap.

What wing would they have gotten had they not resigned Asik? They were already over the cap at that point when they resigned him.


Look, I was against the Asik resigning more than anyone on this site, but that did not hinder us to the point of what happened today. and the intial trade for Asik was not a bad trade. We couldn't have anticipated his knees turning into fettuccini alfredo.


First big mistake was the resigning of EG instead of S&T, and the second big mistake was hiring a proven loser in Gentry. Solo not working out and his ridiculous contract hurt a lot, but more than half the teams in the NBA handed out a stupid contract like that back then.
