Didn't Mike Davis have them in the National Championship game? Someone please refresh me, as I believe they almost or should have won that game too. Was that a fluke year for them? I don't recall them being a #1 or #2 seed, I think they just got hot and went on a roll.

They were in NC game vs Maryland in 2002
They beat Utah Wilmington Duke and Kent St. Then in Atlanta beat OU and lost to Maryland
Duke had won NC year before
Kent St had Antonio Gates
I think OU had Hollis Price and Ebi Ere

At least UCLA got to a couple of Final Fours ten or years ago.
No one cares that you were the GOAT 50 years ago.
Kentucky, UNC, Duke, UConn at minimum have passed them as GOAT. Sure, they can count more titles but they are all but one from one coach 50 years ago. You have to maintain at least somehwat
