Looking to make a trip to the Carribbean or Cabo in April 4 nights - 3 days (no kids). We are a 29 years old couple. Looking for an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica or Cabo but are open to other places within our price range. We are looking to keep it around $3,500 with flights. Looking for good food and good beach.

So far we have a few options we are looking at that seem to fall within our price range:

Jamaica - couples negril, Hyatt Zillara

Cabo - Pueblo Bonita, Sandos Finisterra, Riu Palace

Anyone have any suggestions from previous stays? Does anyone feel strongly on Jamaica Vs. Cabo? better beach? Any other islands/places we should closer at in the Caribbean that will fall within our price range?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The sand is Cabo is course and the water is very limited in safe places to swim, with that being said, Jamaica is a shite hole, but if you aren't leaving the resort you will be ok.

Some friends of ours go to Isla Mujeres every year, they love it! I don't believe they do an all-inclusive though, they just rent a place for a week or two.

VA, I’m going on a week trip to Roatan later this summer and we’re trying to finalize a place to stay. Looks like my buddies want to stay in West End.

How many people? We rent a condo there that’s right on the beach when we go. 2200 sq ft 3 bedrooms 3 baths and beautiful. Runs about $3k a week.

He’s right. Of course it depends what you’re comparing it to. Jamaica to Haiti vs Jamaica to many other islands. Compare Jamaica to TCI, BVI, Anguilla, St Barths, etc and it is indeed a shithole.

I enjoyed the Dominican Republic for what it was, got out of the resort for a couple of meals, I spent a short time in Roatan, loved it, really enjoy Mexico. Montego Bay in Jamaica is a real shite hole and my wife has said she will never return.

There is an Argentinian restaurant on the beach there that is really good. I think we had mostly seafood and were very happy with the food and prices. I will try to locate the name

I think there’re 5 of us. They’re all oceanographers, and very experienced divers. I’m just going to frick around and maybe put some fins on. Probably just beer:30 it if there isn’t much to do.

There is a monkey and sloth place that lets you hold the animals, it is cool if you want to want to waste an hour. Between the zoo and West End is a natural chocolate hut that makes their own chocolate that is worth the stop since it is between the two locations.

Sounds cool, i like chocolate. My friends are trying to talk me into getting certified down there, but that seems like a PITA. Did y’all dive at all?

Easy to rent a moped or motorcycle?

There’s also a great zip line near west end. Stay away from Coxen Hole. It defines shithole.

Let me know when you’ve booked it. I have a driver down that that will take you all over for cheap and I can recommend places to eat. Cal’s Temporary Cantina is a must.

The wife and I enjoyed our Honeymoon at Couples San Souci in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Jamaice is a shithole, but we stayed at couples tower in ocho rios, and had a blast. I would go back. mountain biking tour, horseback riding, booze cruise all included.

Cabo, i recommend pueblo bonito sunset beach. riu's were not as good. Giant buffets that were fair to poor. Weak watery drinks with cheap booze.

We stayed at couples swept away in Jamaica. Really enjoyed it, but we didn't leave the resort. I probably wouldn't go back to Jamaica.
Stayed at a condo in cabo called terrasol and cooked our own food and ate in town. Really enjoyed that too. Will definitely be back.
Also stayed at Zoetry in Isla Mujeres - definitely our favorite but lots of people don't reccomend all inclusive there and I can see why.
