Good bosses are actually ok with a contest of ideas. Doesn't mean they're always happy with it but they accept it. That's where creativity and progress is born.
Insecure bosses are the dictatorial types that aren't open to doing things a different way. They aren't comfortable with not being the absolute authority in every aspect of the operation.

Yep. And I would never work for a boss like that. My time and education was is far too valuable for me to have to deal with someone like that.
