Not optimally using a scholarship does not equal wasting a scholarship.
Given his scholarship was vacant when he joined the team in April, I am not sure exactly what you expected could have been a better use of it at the time. I don't see the point of dogging a guy that filled the role he was supposed to fill. Terrance Alexander was exactly what we expected him to be and was more optimal use of the scholarship than it not being filled.

I think Alexander was more of a liability.
I mean He was maybe marginally better than Kirklin or Netherly but A&M pickedmon jim. So did UCF before he got thrown out.

Also, his motor is incredible. There are plays where he's lined up at DE and ends up making a tackle 15-20 yards down field
That's amazing. I think that the coaches could find a place for this kid to play.

More of a liability than not having somoene on the roster?

He was the 4th cb...not to mention Fulton wasn't a sure thing to be cleared to play when he signed in April so he could have be the 3rd cb. Alexander wasn't great but he played in every game last season and contributed. I just don't get why folks are dogging a guy that filled the role he was supposed to fill. It isn't Alexader's fault that O missed on Surtain. It would be one thing if Alexander joined on signing day or was a multi-year project. But he wasn't. He was a grad transfer in April. We needed viable depth at CB, he provided it, and got a scholarship for a year.

Greedy, Fulton, Joseph and Vincent were our top 4 CBS
Alexander was back up duties to the dime and buckle backs by like the 3rd game.
I fet Why we took him, but we lucked out Fulton was healthy, because the second band of CBS Netherly, Kirklin and Alexander would have been a disaster if they had to start really minutes.

I don't know about the chances of another DL recruit replacement not being as good as Sospher because he's struggled at a lot of the elite camps and he doesn't work hard on every play. I'm not a big fan of Sospher because he hasn't shown the dominant play of a 5-star. His signature would look good for the rankings, but he has a lot to prove before I believe he's everything the rankings make him out to be.

This is a guy they like a lot. Could be a hybrid OLB/DE type. Won't surprise me a bit to see him take the 25th spot if we don't hit on every single person we want.

I think it's taken Netherly a moment to adjust, but he looks like he's going to do well at corner for us. He's long, rangy, can keep up with WRs, and seems to tackle well in space.

Hey Vol, are we still in contact with the possible transfer?
Posted on 1/22/19 at 5:08 pm to tFearIsReal
Yeah, but at this point we may not hear anything until after Spring practice. As of now, he still hasn't filed his transfer paperwork.

Thanks for the info. I figured it may not happen for a while.
