I was very disappointed in the end of the A$M game, but I don't think anyone has lowered standards. There's not a unit in the country that's going to play flawlessly over the course of the year

I think chaissons injury hurt more than most people realize.

The expectations for the defense are still very high. This was a very good defense, borderline great even. It wasn't quite elite though.

12th in efficiency
26th in scoring (t-20th if you remove OT)
t-16th in turn overs forced
t-40th in opponent red zone attempts
47th in opponent red zone TD%
25th in total defense
34th is opponent's 3rd down %
32nd in sacks (missing best pass rusher for the entire season)


The red zone numbers could be better, but that's probably somewhere around 15 as an overall unit. The efficiency rating confirms this.
