I love the apple cider vinegar suggestions. Not that I necessarily doubt that it works, just seems like people can be convinced it cures anything. Big Vinegar marketing at work.

Everybody should spend the $10 and have a bottle of Bragg’s ACV in their house. Gargling that stuff cured my sore throat many a time.

Btw, I have had a dermatologist tell us it’s a good first step on lots of minor skin ailments like athlete’s foot and meliscum contagium (common kid rash).

It's not a myth. Did this while in the military and it worked like a charm.

That is anecdotal.

If your urine has that much urea in it to sanitize a shower....athlete's foot is the least of your concern.

For urine to work...you would have to pee on your feet after the shower.

Boudreauxs butt paste works. When I used to run a lot, I would put it on my feet before long runs to keep from getting blisters and athlete's foot, but it also works to get rid of it.

Lamasil spray. hit it between the toes after a shower with dry feet before you put on socks. It also helps you from developing grandpa's toenail fungus.

You're supposed to pee on your girlfriend in the shower, and SHE pees on your feet.

Everyone knows that.

Treat it like others said and don’t walk barefooted in the gym. I bet there is carpet on the floor and it’s never cleaned.

Surprisingly Head and Shoulders works wonders.

Just scrub that on your feet for a week. It will wipe out any fungus

Treatment for athlete’s foot?

I had a fungus on my back on and off for about 10 yrs. It's a common one for sweaty fricks in the south. Basically some red itchy splotches when exercising. But I also got Athletes foot often and kept cream in the drawer.
My GP gave me a script for Fluconazole. Very cheap $3 AF drug I took for 7 days. Haven't had either fungus come back in over 6 months.

Keep in mind Athletes Foot is contagious....so dry your feet last and make sure you are drying and cleaning your shower shoes. You can also spread athletes foot with your towel.

The same fungi that casuses Athlete's foot also causes jock itch and ringworms.

A number of different species of fungi are involved in dermatophytosis. Dermatophytes of the genera Trichophyton and Microsporum are the most common causative agents. These fungi attack various parts of the body and lead to the conditions listed below.
The Latin names are for the conditions (disease patterns), not the agents that cause them. The disease patterns below identify the type of fungus that causes them only in the cases listed:

Dermatophytosis Tinea pedis (athlete's foot): fungal infection of the feet
Tinea unguium: fungal infection of the fingernails and toenails, and the nail bed
Tinea corporis: fungal infection of the arms, legs, and trunk
Tinea cruris (jock itch): fungal infection of the groin area
Tinea manuum: fungal infection of the hands and palm area
Tinea capitis: fungal infection of the scalp and hair
Tinea barbae: fungal infestation of facial hair
Tinea faciei (face fungus): fungal infection of the face

And might as well point out....peeing on a jellyfish sting doesn't work either.

People....Stop peeing on yourself!

Pee on them before the shower then turn the water on. All I can say is it worked after a few days, I couldn't speak to the science of it.

Also, for the guy walking around the gym locker room in his socks... get some shower shoes man.

Urea doesn't kill the fungus. Urea softens skin and exfoliates (removing the flaky skin).

Some topical fungicides use a urea to help the fungicides be more effective. Those fungicides contain up to 40% urea. Urine contains 2-2.5% urea. Which is not enough to be effective.

And even if you had 10-15% urea in your urine....you would need to soak your feet in urine for it to be effective.

Dab affected areas twice daily with muratic acid. Rinse, repeat.

I guess the fungus died on its own and my feet became softer. Regardless, my toes stopped itching and burning.
