I think its time to start looking at the future. I would just ride the season out at this point or sell like you say. The next five years have potential with our Ad haul. Unless we screw that up which would be a bigger disaster than him actually wanting to leave.

Can it get much worse? AD is a great player, but this has been a .430 win team in his tenure here.

They need to build up the foundation, focus on culture and player development, and the next 7-8 years can easily be more successful than the last 7

Think of it this way - with the AD rebuild, they were starting from zero. In this next rebuild, they could start it with 6-8 GOOD assets.

The problem is there’s no reason for the current regime to look for the future. Sure they may look at a life without AD, but if they manage to keep their jobs, which I think is a real possibility, then they likely will have sold the idea of being just as competitive without AD right away.

Add a Conley for Randle/Moore/1st and get Tatum/Smart and 1sts for AD and all you really need to do is add a rim protector to have a competitive team.

BTW, I’m not advocating that plan. If I go after Conley now it’s be during the summer after I see what else is going down, I’m just saying if they don’t clean house I think the plan would be something like

Conley/Payton
Jrue/Frank
Tatum/Smart
Niko/Miller
Whiteside/Okafor

I can see that team being better than this years team because of the depth and doubling the playmakers.
