You have an odd habit of defining endpoint outcome based on midpoint perspective. In the same vein, you might well say the US lost WWII in the Pacific because, from a perspective 6months in, we'd not won a single battle.

Of course the Chinese are buying less from us.
Part of that is due to the fact they are buying less from everyone.
That is what happens when an economy tanks!

But we also remain amidst continued punitive bilateral trade actions. So why in the world would anyone expect the Chinese to be currently buying more US products right now?
