So “defeated” can never.. ever.. be used in the context of a military triumph without an official surrender ever again?

Based on the evidently very truthful Obama.. ISIS was a JV team that would be easy to defeat. So it’s not far fetched that they have been defeated. Correct?

Defeated also doesn’t mean completely eradicated, which is what you want to imply was said while pretending to be reasonable.

ISIS is an uncontrolled gang. They’re not a defined military or entity represented by a foreign state.

There’s not going to be a surrender. The only literal way to defeat something of that nature is to kill them all which isn’t possible.

Therefore, it can only be...mitigated.

I’m more inclined to believe the man meant that instead of what you want to think.
