i'm in. it doesn't appear that it's going to have the same potential/intrigue as S1, so there won't be a corresponding let down
i did sit through season 2 though in all its masochistic glory
i think one major mystery is just how unreliable of a narrator hays is going to be. the splicing of the lights going off in episode one makes me think that when we see the past, it's his recollection of it (and clearly he's not all there)
clearly this is based on the same situation as the west memphis 3, but it appears it's in reverse (the dad seems to be the one arrested based on the post-episode preview). so the dady gets falsely accused/convicted dad but it's really the Satanic kids? (it's very likely that the real WM3 had the exact opposite scenario)
clearly there are issues with the family/daughter of Hays
that little derivation with the family of the missing children was pretty lit. cousin fricking in Arkansas? say it ain't so! it's especially complex when he only married the woman for the kids, and the kids (at least the one who got him stuck there) may not be his.
hell the native trash guy also had a similar family-stuck scenario. maybe that same theme spills into the Hays family (the book comes out in 90, he is forced off the ASP the same year, and he never reads the book)
the wtf face to the director's intersectionality comments was pretty fricking funny

I think they are putting that West Memphis 3 scenario in to throw people off
