The thought is that he'll be offered Co-DC at north of $800k. Don't know how he would turn that down.

Oh look the sky is falling again.

If I were Aranda, I'd pull O aside and let him know to never publicly scream at me again. We all know Aranda is the reason this team wasn't 6-6.
Without Aranda, O would be out and we would have hired a new coach last month

We just can't stop CCR if he really just wants to leave. But we can't just let him walk away to another SEC school where he will recruit against us for every top southern defensive backfield athlete from here on out. We'd have been better losing him to tOSU.

Remember O going off on Aranda for calling man to man during Fiesta Bowl.
So he'd go to work for Saban because his feelings/pride were hurt? LOL. Thats jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Saban's arse chewings are much worse and Aranda will run Saban's defense not his own if he chose to go that route.

Aranda brought in a safeties coach, Raymond coaches secondary. Think that could of been a sore spot?
And, for the most part the secondary was better.
I don't believe anyone who says that they have inside information. It's all hearsay until proven otherwise.
If Raymond leaves, LSU will survive. If Arranda leaves, LSU will survive.

He’s a big boy. He’s ok now.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Aranda had a grin on his face after Orgeron did that. It's not like Coach O has ever been a DC.
That's a slight problem with Coach O. He's a solid coach, maybe could make a playoff run next year. His players and staff like and respect him, but I don't think many run through a brick wall for him. He's a good motivator, but it doesn't look like he is a great one.
He's also made plenty of questionable decisions in the last two years and this upcoming season should be playoffs or bust with all the returning talent. Because of the returning talent, LSU needs to look for a new
head coach if LSU misses the playoffs next year.

I like Raymond and would rather he remain on staff with a bump in pay, but I wouldn’t lose sleep over losing him.
Keep in mind Raymond is not an “Aranda Guy”. He’s a holdover from previous DC’s obviously. Busch was picked by Aranda, and I think he’s a better coach than Raymond myself.
And Smart isn’t stupid enough to make Raymond DC. That would be a disaster.

Facts, we where sold on being able to pay all our top coaches because of Orgeron's low salary, why keep him if we can't retain our best position coach !
Posted on 1/12/19 at 9:56 pm to 1999
Busch is gone when Aranda leaves, Raymond is LSU family why disrespect your best coach on staff !

Tell us about all the facts you were sold.

Because Smart has been a DC he can call defensive plays if need be. That makes him able to take a chance and hire a guy like Raymond with no DC experience

I didn’t know Aranda was leaving

Guys ITT trying to downplay losing Raymond to Georgia would be a disaster. He'd start plucking recruits from Louisiana. You also probably end up burning bridges with an LSU guy who could be a potentially big name coach in the future.
People saying all he did was extend what Cooper did...well how's that working out for LSU on the dline now? Once upon a time LSU use to be called dline-U. They had 3 first round picks on their line with a second rounder too. Sonic Sam would've been a 1st if he wasn't an idiot before draft. LSU use to be so deep on the line that year that they even got Edwards drafted as a reserve in the 3rd? How's that working out for LSU now with all the mediocre defensive lines we had since? How quickly you lose status when you allow a shitty coach to muck a position up in recruiting/public perception.
Raymond gives LSU consistency, is arguably the best DB coach in NCAA, is an elite recruiter and has deep roots into LSU. What more could you ask? It's hard to get a coach that's great at both coaching/recruiting. Right now LSU is the premiere university for DBs and one shitty hire could degrade that prestige fast especially if Busch leaves relatively quickly too. LSU will survive but the sting would be much bigger than any of you give credit to.

Wouldn't it just get announced he took job vs "interviewing" if this was not a money play?
Pay him if Aranda wants that
Pay him if Aranda wants that
