Perfectionists are always doubting if they've done enough. It's not a sign of weakness to always know you've got something that needs to be worked on, shored up, improved upon. I love his work ethic.

I would add that basketball is that kind of sport where no matter how well you played there is always something that needs work. I have to keep reminding myself of that as a fan because I want every play to be perfect and every shot to go in. That's not reality but it sure would be sweet!
