Currently using the Linksys Velop Tri-Band Mesh system.
Thinking about switching to Ubiquiti. What do y’all recommend for a 5000 sq ft house?

5000 sq ft house?

How’s the performance with the Velop system?
If you already have the system and are seeing good performance, no reason to change.
If you’re not happy, then Ubiquiti is certainly a good option, but it requires additional knowledge and setup. Do you have Cat5/6 run to the locations? How difficult would it be?
I have a slightly smaller house and just installed a Ubiquiti system. I used a Unifi Switch, Cloud Key, an AP Pro, and an AP Lite. Coverage is good so far and speeds match my wired speeds (which are all slow, so difficult to compare)

I'm currently building and the company that will be running my Ethernet has recommended Ubiquiti for my access points as well as my IT guy at my work. Haven't looked into it yet but I do trust my IT guy for sound advice.

Is there a particular reason as to why?
Honestly unless you need the unifi for a specific purpose, I'd wait for the rollout of the wifi 6 mesh networks this year. a few were announced at CES this week

Around 100 Mbps.. reason I’m looking to switch to Ubiquiti is bc their WiFi range is insane. The velop range wont cover the whole house.

Every room has a cat5 port so it shouldn’t be too difficult.
Also, I have fiber internet so I want the best Fiber speeds over WiFi. After doing some research on the internet most people are satisfied with Ubiquiti so I wanted to hear everyone’s feedback here.

I switched my entire home network to Ubiquiti last year when I built my new house and can't be happier. The router is rock solid and goes months without rebooting. I've only need to reboot it when updating firmware. Unlike my old $200+ Asus or Netgear routers that would need to reboot weekly.
Since I had CAT6 wired to all rooms. I installed Ubiquiti in wall APs which work really well and never worry about coverage. Also, they don't stick out like sore thumbs. Ubiquiti has those bigger UFO looking APs, but I didn't care for that.
