I play there often, and I have a hard time finding parking at 6 o clock in the evening on a weeknight when going to hit balls. At least at Golf Club of Houston you had a massive parking lot nearby which was easy to shuttle people in. You'd be looking at a much longer shuttle ride to and from the course, which happens to be in a very congested part of Houston. I don't see many holes being able to have grandstands for spectators unless they took down a lot of trees. And on top of that, the course isn't anywhere near Tour level difficulty/conditions. Pros would laugh at current practice facilities as well.

Well, they Brooks Koepka as the player consultant to come in and make sure the course is going to be playable and difficult enough for the pros. I would guess they are going to do a HUGE facelift on all facilities and practice areas.

I’m familiar with the course and area and have played it multiple times.
That’s why they’re spending 13M to upgrade it. Grandstands fit in much smaller places than you think. A lot of times they’re right up on the collar of greens and tee boxes.
And there are plenty of tournaments that have difficult parking/traffic arrangements. I know Winged Foot for the US Open is one of those with minimal on-site parking. Everyone else is shuttled in through their one narrow driveway on buses.
