Will be there next week for business, staying near the parks. Don't want to spend a hundy per round. What are the value courses that aren't crap, if there is such a thing.

At Disney, those $100 rounds ARE the crap courses

The only 3 courses I’ve played in that area are Bay Hill, Disney Magnolia, and North Shore. I think North Shore is $60 or so.

Buena Vista is usually in the "worst" shape and it's still nicer or as nice as anything around South Louisiana. The Palm and Magnolia are more fun and usually in better shape. If there's a problem with any of these is that they typically get play from slower players or people with kids which can lengthen a round. I've only experienced that once though. Just plan to not be in a hurry.

Uber over to Winter Park 9.

It’s suposed to be amazing and an incredible value.

quote:

The Winter Park Golf Course re-opened to rave reviews after a 1.2 million dollar renovation project. The historic course, built in 1914, underwent some much needed repairs in 2016. New fairways, rough and greens, combined with a state of the art irrigation system and a re-design by Keith Rhebb and Riley Johns of Integrative Golf, brought this second oldest course in Orlando back to its glory days and turned it into a gem in Central Florida. So much so that The Golf Channel, and Golf Advisor, named it the 5th Best Short Course in the entire country. The course will also be featured in “The Finest Nines” a new book from Author Anthony Pioppi and Sky Horse Publications celebrating the best nine hole golf courses in North America scheduled for release in February

Was that the non-resident rate...or do they ask for proof?

Book over the phone and tell them you're an orange county resident, they usually won't check your ID at the clubhouse. I prefer panther lake but crooked cat is great too.

I always check the GolfNow App on my phone when I am in a new area to check rates, reviews and any deals. You can find some hot deals and even book tee times from the App. I use it all the time.

Go down every December with a group to the Melbourne/ Viera area and play for a week. Went up to North Shore and played on a Monday. Cost us $75. Good track. A lot of character. Played difficult on that specific day with the high winds. Worth a play

Good choices. If you can play OCN another day, play Panther Lake.
If you have the budget, take the road trip to Streamsong. You won't regret it.
