It only took Alabama over twenty years to pay LSU back.

I went to that game in Tuscaloosa. It was depressing. There was no real enthusiasm by Alabama fans before, during, or after the game - it was like they were showing up out of habit. Say what you will about losing 8 in a row, at least many LSU fans think we can win each year and show some enthusiasm. The Alabama fans’ reaction to a little adversity showed me a lot about their character.

That is Bama's worst margin of defeat ever at Bryant-Denny by any team. Saban almost 27-0'd them too over there in 2003, but Shula kicked a FG instead of going for it late in the game to avoid the shutout. I believe that is their 2nd worst loss ever margin-wise there.

Back when college football wasn’t an NFL developmental league and fans stayed the entire game.

The 27-0 beat down was in Tuscaloosa.
It was a wacky 2 years. In 1996 Alabama beat LSU 26-0 in Baton Rouge. I was living in Birmingham at the time. I had traveled to LSU for the game. Got a speeding ticket on the way home. A very bad weekend, lol.
