It's the laziest argument i've seen from the shitty analyst. They make it seem like we traded for him knowing his Achilles would tear, and he gets a fricking pass for how shitty he acted during negotiations.

There is a large contingent of people on here, myself included, that were against the Cousins trade from the beginning and knew that he would never re-sign here. So it is hardly hindsight to lament that trade..

Cousins would have re-signed here had we offered him the max deal, with or without the injury

Dude, he tore his Achilles. That changed the entire scope of the negotiations. You dont get to sit here and say you were right in your initial judgement when they were on a good run when he got hurt.

The Pels would have been more willing to spend big with a healthy Boogie (especially if he played well in the playoff run).

So you cant say he wouldn have left regardless. Injuries always change everything with a player.

buddy for cousins even up since cousins only 1 Year and buddy on rookie deal

pels keep draft pick.

I admit I was in love with buddy. But so was sacto.

Kings turned that pick into 2 decent players.

So they got three guys and the pels got one season.

This board seems to have lots of posters wanting to sweeten deals with pels picks.

This is a joke right?

First off, there was never any "large contingent of people" that didn't love the Boogie trade. Those people would've rightly been eaten alive for their idiotic comments.

Secondly, an achilles tear for Boogie is something NO ONE ever did or could have predicted. Had it not been for that injury, the Pels 100% would have offered Boogie a max deal. Zero doubt from anyone about that.

Lastly, every piece of evidence we have suggests that if Boogie would have been offered the max by the Pelicans, he would have resigned. He was close to home, didn't care about playing in a big market, was winning for the first time in his career and was doing it with one of his best friends in the league. Boogie was happy in New Orleans before the injury and the Pelicans were happy with Boogie. To suggest otherwise is BS and everyone knows it. Dell made a no-brainer trade that was sending this franchise in the right direction and fans were more excited about New Orleans basketball than ever before. Personally, I think that achilles injury was the nail in the coffin for the AD era and probably Dell Demps as our GM. It was terrible luck that no one could have seen coming.

So stop telling people you knew it all along or whatever BS you're spewing here. You are a either clueless or a troll, I can't tell which. Your comments are a joke, own that.
