As for climate change, studies show that total CO2 emissions from EV cars can even exceed those of conventional gas vehicles—depending on what fuel is producing the electricity to charge the batteries (coal) and how long a car battery charge lasts.

Electric cars allow owners to shift the pollution from their tailpipe, to that coal plant, just over the state line.

This is very popular in places like California, where people choose to believe that they’re helping the environment.

It allows them to feel both smug, and virtuous.

While not being particular virtuous.

I never understood why coal is shipped down from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virgina to be burned in a plant in Pointe Coupee Parish while our natural gas is shipped up north.

I can't figure out if you and people like you are stupid or brainwashed.

Nevermind if you "believe in" climate change or not, let's just make the basic assumption that burning fossil fuels creates pollution, and that pollution is bad. Fair?

We have power plants that pollute directly and power plants that don't pollute directly. We have cars that pollute directly and cars that don't pollute directly. If the goal is to reduce pollution, where the frick do you suggest we start? How about any-fricking-where? Why must you shite on people who are at least doing SOMETHING to try to stop fricking up the planet?

If we'd eventually like to use 100% renewable and clean energy, we have to stop burning shite in the power plants and in our cars. Does it make you feel better about yourself by talking shite about people who do their part to get us there?

Just making the battery alone has more of an environmental impact than a 1970 Camaro and all of the maintenance and gas burned from then until now.
