That's my point. Most people aren't as honest about it.

Your IQ seems to be the same as a 12 year old!

Seems like a temporary fix, you'd get used to it and still have insomnia in a few weeks or months, then you'd really have no chance at going to sleep sober.

It doesn't go away because you smoke. It's a natural sleep aid, not a magical cure.

And that legalization would likely put a significant dent in the opioid epidemic killing my fellow Kentuckians.
Is there valid reason to believe opioid users would switch to marijuana?

I don't buy into the all the wonder drug claims but they serve their purpose. "I just want to get high" isn't very effective, politically.

t’s not as bad as any kind of tobacco and is honestly safer than drinking alcohol.
What is the safest way to consume it? Edibles?

Most baby boomers think the food pyramid is valid.

Have you seen me make the argument? I even said I don't buy all the health claims. But you're blind if you don't think that route was effective.
I'm a fan of the "I should be free to do what the frick I want with my body as long as I'm not harming anyone" argument, myself.

Just think how this all started under the guise of medical marijuana. You know this, just for others.
Yep, it was all bullshite (somewhat) to get what we want but when you're dealing with a crooked govt that wants to control you, you do what you have to.
Seriously, this all started with 1 person, Harry Anslinger, deciding for us all that we aren't allowed to grow hemp which in turn made getting high illegal.

I.e., the 'freedom, man' argument.
Kind of like the 'pro-choice' argument, you know, as long as abortion is one of the choices.
And I'm not knocking you. You're one of the honest ones.

At this point, it’s less about them switching and more about stemming future addicts.
Marijuana is cheaper to produce than opioids. And leaves pharmaceutical companies less open to lawsuits (which a lot of state AGs are filing now over the opioid epidemic). They’re likely waiting for wide spread legalization to begin pushing THC medically.
Start supplementing medical-grade THC at pain management clinics and the like instead of opioids and IMO it could make a big difference.
ETA: To be real frank, what could it hurt at this point? Something needs to happen.

Unless you don't think abortion harms anyone? And I doubt you think that.

I do, but the people using that argument don't.
'By any means necessary' remember?
