Actually, there are substantial differences between the Christian denominations and their interpretation of scripture. From understanding of/requirements of salvation & eternal life all the way to the governance of the individual local church, some are very different than others.
Martin Luther's start of the Reformation opened the door for individuals to have freedom to interpret scripture as they feel God directs. That has led to many minor and some major differences. I encourage you to explore the scripture to see how God would lead you instead of just "accepting" the tradition.
