Supposedly Mattis and everyone on the National Security team was blindsided by the announcement about Syria. I had a feeling Afghanistan was next and sure enough today it leaks significant numbers of troops are expected to come home.

Is Mattis upset about leaving in general or is it just the blundering way it is announced?

I am all for getting the hell out. Is it just a disagreement on pace and timing and when things are made public?

I don’t pretend to know the proper way to withdraw our troops without getting troops hurt or fricking the Kurds.
