Exactly, what they never release in these studies to demonize drunk driving is there are several other factors.

The majority of people involved in alchohol related accidents are also speeding, tired, and distracted.

Also what they don't tell you is that it doesn't matter if the impared driver is at fault. For example, a guy with a .09 bac can be obeying all other traffic laws, drive through a green light, and a kid texting runs the red light and t bones the guy. If the cop detects alcohol, the impared driver can be found to be at fault even though the other person ran a red light.

Alcohol also leads to poor judgement so of course speed and other factors go along with it.
