The murder rate has steadily been dropping. Actually the murder rate has been steadily dropping nationwide.

Nola was at 151 in 2017 with a population of about 393K . NYC had 290 murders with a population of over 8.6 million. Less than twice the murders, abut 22 times the population. It may be going in the right direction but it still has a long way to go.

New corrupt mayor... of course the numbers are going to drop.

Mayor doom just isnt smart enough to pull this off.

They are absolutely re-categorizing the crime. Negligent, manslaughter, suicides, missing persons, etc.
