Wtf are you talking about? Do you seriously want to argue that the United States debt isn't directly linked to massive social welfare programs, a foreign policy that requires us to be at war permanently and a bloated military budget to effectuate said wars?

If there's one thing both parties agree on, it's that they want to spend more of your money.

Cold War spending.

you miss what really happened, the D President would strip our military to bare bones and then over use them and the next R President had to rebuild it from scratch.
Go back and look at Military spending by Party and you will get a clearer picture.

Filing for both Chapter 11 and 13, using Trump's most experienced personal bankruptcy law team, is imminent.
When the Federal Reserve has to buy treasuries to keep interest rates low and inject liquidity that is a form of bankruptcy. But instead of having the privilege of not paying off debts under bankruptcy law the federal government gets the privilege of printing money to pay off debt.
Different method that leads to the diametrically opposed outcomes that have the same negative impact on the economy.

This is very true.
Currently I believe the picture to be this:
GOPe plus Dems minus Freedom Caucus = big spending. The Freedom Caucus is not big enough to offset the GOPe and Dems. I also believe President Trump would sign a Freedom Caucus budget bill but he will never receive one because of the GOPe and Dems want the big spending to continue.

Just like most Libertarians it's almost like you're kind of on the right track but then you take a hard left. The social welfare programs of this country exist to keep the poorest parts of our population dependent and away from the process. After all, they are the people that could create the most trouble for the most wealthy people so they are kept happy and uninvolved.
This keeps them from complaining about things like Perpetual War which makes a set few a ton of money. Pretending like it's social welfare that causes us to need war is ludicrous. The military-industrial complex, backed by big banking, has been steering this country wrong since World War II ended. The weapons contractors are rolling in it and they use us all as fodder.
Your whole schtick is misguided. I bet you're one of those people that thinks free market solves everything. Well guess what? The most useless profession in the world will be running everything very openly if we did something like that. How quickly Libertarians forget about the robber baron days and point their finger at government as if businesses aren't using the government as a veil anyway

How about we just look at military spending as a percentage of GDP by year since 1947:
Try to find Carter's negligent precipitous decline in spending, and Reagan's magnificent reinvestment in our military...
What trend started around 1968?
What trend started in 1980?
If Carter gutted the military, what the hell did Nixon do?
