Don't get too excited because Paul Ryan slipped into the Farm Bill a provision that states that any resolution to end the support for the Yemen War can't be taken up until 2019. Plus this would only apply to in-air fueling which was stopped back in November.

Meh, they could’ve done it months or years ago. This is only virtue signaling to hurt Trump over the Khashoggi bullshite. These senators don’t give a goddamn about the way in Yemen.
Also, Trump ended military support to the Saudi’s in Yemen over a month ago. So I guess he beat these grandstanding senators to the punch.

Rand has been a vocal opponent of the war in Yemen for years. Mike Lee probably has too. I'm not saying it isn't virtue signaling (lord knows republicans virtue signal to their biggest political foes constantly) but in Rand's case his positions on KSA are probably not all that helpful. To himself I mean.

Such courage perhaps seldom seen in our great halls.

Most people on this board care more about killing brown people than they do our involvement in pointless conflicts that actually increase the amount of ungoverned spaces that allow terrorist groups to flourish.

Outside of Rand Paul and Mike Lee, this is mere virtue signaling. The Bush and Obama administrations had no problem turning Yemen into a wasteland via drone bombs, killing hundreds of women and children in the process.

It's a beautiful thing to see the poliboard support a celticdog thread. Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukkah to all and peace on earth.

means absolutely nothing
If the Iranians get ahold of Yemen, they will be able to harass traffic entering and exiting the Red Sea approaches to the Suez Canal.
A strategically important area. A shooting war in the Red Sea would be disastrous to the Global economy.
Policy toward Yemen will not change.

Good. Let the Saudis clean up their own messes. We have no business being involved in a Sunni/Shia conflict. While we are at it, get our soldiers out of Syria.

Basically those are the only two senators that I have any respect for.

I write to make it easy on the comprehension-challenged. Otherwise you see dudes whining they can't understand. I even post definitions sometimes.
Sometimes I just have fun.
Have a blessed day, eh?
