So if someone steals from a store, get arrested and pleads quilty, you wouldn’t call them a thief
Same for if someone cheats on a exam, are they not a cheater ?

If they stealing knowing what the consequences are going to be and think its worth it, id still call them a thief, but i wouldnt call them a criminal
