Not everyone wants the same elitist bullshite you’re spewing out of their animated films. Some of us like to be reminded of the iconic characters from our childhood cause it’s ANIMATED. I know very few grown ups who watch cartoons regularly outside of the comedy ones they follow or the occasional anime fans. The stories are often made for kids with adult undertones, yet you’re saying we MUST review them like we’re voting for the Oscars.

It’s not elitist. It’s like someone saying “Reign of Fire” is better than “Pan’s Labyrinth” if we were doing a fantasy tournament. And it’s not because people have seen Pan’s Labyrinth, it’s just they’ve seen Reign of Fire and that’s all that matters. Sorry, one is not that good, and the other is an objective masterpiece.
If Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke don’t make it past the first round against that competition, this tournament is a joke. Might as well have a war movie tournament where 300 beats Apocalypse Now in the first round. They are just on totally different levels that anyone with a partially functioning brain can recognize the difference. Jesus Christ.
