I took tennis lessons as a kid and thought I had it all figured out but this thread has taught me quite a few things. I feel the urge to run by my parents' house and try to dig out my old Pro-Kenex and hit the court.
ETA- in the largest tennis class I was in, we finished with a mini-tournament that I won. I just want you all to know that.

I am undefeated in competitive tennis. 1-0 in the Atlanta League Tennis Association.
Was visiting my mother and her team was missing a guy for mixed doubles. They signed me up, paid my fee, and played me on line 5 with some random lady. We kicked arse.
