Not quite. His relative uploaded their dna profile to gedmatch.com which is designed to make the dna profile available to anyone (goal is to find new family members). 23 and me doesn’t do that

Well technically the site the family member uploaded to was meant to have DNA only accessible to people searching for their relatives. The investigator who “solved” the case in reality obtained the DNA under false pretenses.

I am pretty convinced the Ancestry.com DNA test is bogus. My results showed a large percentage of my heritage from being from somewhere I absolutely know for certain none of my family is originally from. I just have quite a few direct relatives living there for employment purposes, all of whom are in my ancestry.com family tree showing that as a current location. Which really leads me to believe they’re doing nothing more than spewing out percentages based off what you for the most part already knew.
