Sheffer and Provens are both misses, too IMO. Neither have looked like SEC caliber players

But who were the in state guys we passed on in order to take them?
Same question goes for the guy who mentioned Traore and Giles. The op asked if the staff can make solid comparative evaluations with instate guys.
Missing on guys is going to happen every year with every staff.

I will trust you on both, but forgive me if I hold out on Provens. He caught my eye with a nice burst through the line against Rice. I know, it's Rice, but still...
Sheffer was offered under Les Miles. Perhaps he was just a case of honoring the commitment?

While I am in no way an expert, I had to look Sheffer up to even remember who he was.
