He wasn't suspended for PEDs or illegal substances. He was suspended for:

It sounds like he got permission to use whatever substance it was, and the league basically reneged on it and suspended him.

The nfl reneged??
What that statement means is the substance he took is on a list that can be exempt if you go through the proper measure to prove that you can legally take it. Like in the adderal case with Kenny Vaccaro, he did not do that.
