Kinda cool they are using a train.

The locomotive is number 4141. Union Pacific commissioned it in 2005 at Bush's presidential library in Bush's honor. The locomotive has Bush's name painted on the side with the presidential seal and is painted in Air Force One's livery. It's been a working locomotive since then and has returned to Texas to carry the president the last few miles to his grave. Here's a picture of it hauling freight.

I'd bet that long ago Bush and his people worked with UP on this as a plan to bring back the old tradition of a presidential funeral train. It allows more people to be part of the procession by lining the tracks along the way and it just seems more dignified somehow. It also wouldn't surprise me if UP decommissions the locomotive and it ends up on permanent display at the library.

I bet the crew running that train are the highest seniority guys in the seniority district for the UP. Although with how dysfunctional BNSF is and UP might be worst I wouldnt be shocked if they have extra board guys running it.

I believe they’ve already mentioned it would. I’d imagine it along with the casket compartment would be a huge draw.
