Cooper's last 2 season followed by Tressel's first season they ended up unranked. They also lost 4 games in 2004, but they finished ranked since after Troy Smith emerged from the Zwick-Smith QB battle and Ted Ginn became a focal point they became quite a potent offense, to go along with the solid defense that was the norm under Tressel.
