I'm more of a classic home audio guy because I think you just get better performance out of a quality wired system. And with wifi connected AVRs nowadays, you can do a lot of the same things you can do with a Sonos type system. I just upgraded my AVR and it's got 3 zones, all the video/audio bells and whistles you could want, and it's connected to Alexa so I can change inputs, pause play, adjust volume, search for shows on my fire stick, and skip songs on Amazon music when listening through the system.

It'll definitely be more work/time for you but in the end it might be worth it.

All of this and it’s almost always cheaper.
