Badmouthing our soon-to-be NFL players...

is a TERRIBLE look for the LSU fan base.
LSU wants/needs to attract the type of talent that gets to play on Sundays. The Fiesta Bowl win or lose is a boon to the LSU program. LSU will get a good share of the bowl proceeds. Our amateur athletes who have contributed to the season have carried the team and program as far as they need carry them. Playing for a five slot ranking up or down is meaningless.
It is entirely unreasonable for any fan base to expect any one with a future in the league to risk another game. All it takes is one bad play to go from top 10 pick, to never playing in the league. The cost: tens of millions of dollars. See, Lattimore, Marcus.
Respect the players. Respect their contribution to the team. They've done more for LSU than you'll ever have done, and laid more on the line for their teammates. They will be inspiring to future generations of high schoolers who will want to come here. And they will continue to be ambassadors and potential donors for LSU for years to come, if a bunch of fricktarded narcissist assholes don't sour them on the whole experience.
Next man up.

Luckily for LSU everyone that actually matters in this respect is fine with these decisions. They understand it's the trend and it won't change.

So....according to you, it would be OK for these "players" to decide not to play in a non-conference game during the season since they don't really mean that much.

what makes you think his teammates don't respect and support his decision? you think a teammate who knows Greedy doesn't tell him, "yeah man. go make money. play in the league. have a ten year career."
everyone understands.

i think players can do whatever the frick they want. this university makes hundreds of millions of dollars because of them. and they get paid in school and meals. if at some point, one of them has the chance to make money, they should take it.
we're talking about generational, life changing money.
good for them.

We must protect the snowflakes... don’t say anything to hurt their feelings
Definitely don’t tell them about the importance of commitment to your team

What these guys are doing is utter bullshite and you know it.

Dont you wish your coach didn’t throw your arm out before college?

if you think bowl games are anything more than glorified scrimmages since the CFP started happening, then i don't know what to tell you.
santa isn't real either, buddy.

The CFP has made every other bowl game irrelevant, and the NCAA has made these kids protect themselves to ensure their pay day materializes. They don’t owe anyone, anything.

They need to be bad mouthed!!! Turing your backs on your team!!!

because they choose to? because they don't have as much to lose?
who knows why greedy needs to make this decision. perhaps he has an agent he wants to sign with. perhaps his family needs money. perhaps he's hurt already. perhaps he knows someone who has been hurt before.
but bitching about a future top player in the league who is going to smile and say "DBU" before every nationally televised pro football game, because he's not going to fly to Tempe and play UCF is ridiculous.
Greedy will do more for LSU getting drafted 3 and making sure that the next top DB comes here, than playing and getting LSU from 9 to 7 in the "WHO GIVES A frick" rankings.

I'll go out on a limb and say more times than not these rich athletes don't give back a dime to their college. Sure some do, and we appreciate their contributions.

For every Marcus Lattimore, there are thousands of players who don't experience that. And if you go through life always scared about what may happen, they're probably going after the wrong career and the wrong dream.
Fans are the only reason them playing football matters. If fans didn't follow the sport, then there would be no money to be made. So yes, these players do kind of owe the fans. They're entertainers, it's in the job description.

or representing your program on national TV as a top 5 pick about to make millions. That's how you get elite talent to come here and play. for the chance to potentially make what Greedy Williams is about to make.
why do you think elites go play for Alabama? It's so they can compete for titles and go down the pipeline to the league. LSU's chance for the title is gone. It's time to go to the league.
